Kaligandaki was hin*dered at mid night after it was block*ed by the ma$$ive l@ndsl!de of Myagdi’s Northern region. After a dry l@ndsl!de occurred in nearby rocky hill of Ramche-9 Kafaldada it took a de$tructive form resulting in block@ge in kaligandaki. Myagdi’s police informed that the people living near the river were taken to safety after a hu*ge rocky hill’s part fell onto kaligandaki at around 2. 26 houses were bur!ed after kaligandaki was h!ndered by a ma$$ive l@ndsl!de in Myagdi’s Northern region. Bimal Upadhdhya Police incharge said that the 26 houses were bur!ed after a dry l@nd$lide took a dev@$tating form in Ramche-9.
He said that total 26 houses were bur!ed under the bases of Ramche-9 and Bhagwati-2. It was also informed that after the inc*dent that took place last Saturday the people of the 26 houses were immediately taken to safety. After rocky hill fell from 1 thousand 5 hundred above into kaligandaki it has been blo*cked and has created a h*uge lake. After the incident Beni-Jomsome road has also been bloc*ked. Reported Kamal Khatri said that the lake has aroused 100 meter above the re$ident!@l place and has also been bur!ed by the landslide. Police informed that the phase of landslide has still not stopped due to which the work of unblock!ng the river has not started. The police informed that the areas which were in the r!$k of drowning due to the breakage in lake have been w@rned about the r!$k and are requested to stay in safe place.
He said, ‘We have warned the residents of Galeshwor and Beni Bazar lower area to be very cautious.’ There is a $er!ous r!$k of flooding because of the block@ge in the river and the locals of Benibazar, Galeshwor bazaar, Bagarphat of Parvat and others have left the place over night. Police are w@rning people to le@ve the place and settle to a higher spot. There was a chaos among the people after the rocky hill landslide into the river making a hu*ge noise. According to reporter K.C soldiers and police have reached there. But since the process of l@ndsl!de has still not stopped it has become a tu*ff job for them too. It is informed that the lake was formed after 99% of the river was bloc*ked. The security team has informed the related natural di$@ster relief committee about the inc!dent. It has been said that more precaution will be taken after the board meeting takes place.
